Vere spent her Global Event 2008 in Switzerland. She participated in a game that involved milking a fake cow during 1 minute. She won! Yay Promet!!!
She got 3 packages of Swiss chocolate!

This being an extraordinary week, there are a number of people who should be recognized as Employee of the Week:

1. The whole Iloilo team for getting through and keeping everything together in the face of extreme adversity

2. Annie – for coming up with the relief fund idea

3. The whole US team for stepping up to the plate and helping the Promet Iloilo family

4. Andy and T.J. for matching what we could do – making our efforts three times as powerful.

A Small slice of one of Chicago’s signature dining experiences can be observed from this image. The Chicago Promet team gathers with Vere and Matt for an old fashioned Chicago style Pizza Party. In classic family dining style they enjoyed a hardy meal of Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza. As you can see from the bright smiling faces, our Chicago newcomers couldn’t wait for a small slice of our ooey gooey culture.

Promet Solutions is very proud to welcome its newest addition to the team, Eber de Mattos Camargo. Eber is located in the Brazil offices and is excited to be working with such a great team worldwide. Eber will bring to the team his achievements in computer science and his refreshed knowledge from his graduate studies in Brazil. From his bio it is easy to gather that he is one well rounded team mate. We are all glad to have him on the team and would like to give him a warm welcome from here on the Kudos blog!

Eber’s bio:

I am a person who likes to travel, to study, to read and I don´t live without my computer. to me is very monotonous living without computer and Internet. I read many magazines and books about computer science, thou I am collecting material to complete my monography in order to finish my graduation studies. These studies require from me many hours to research and write.

I live in Curitiba, Paraná, I live in an apartment with my cousin and a friend. I came from city of Registro in South Coast of São Paulo state. I try to travel there to visit my parents and my girlfriend. There is where I have some fun and my hobbies like playing guitar and keyboard.

I am taking English classes twice a week, in order to improve my communication skills. I´m not a “nerd”! lol!

Vere comes to Promet bringing us her cultural diversity from around the world. She is the office manager in the Brazilian offices and is spending her time out of the office gaining her MBA in international business. Her bright smile is universal and brightens up Promet’s Kudos blog. Although Vere’s dogs are slightly larger then Kudos resident picture perfect face (Monkey), they do attract many oooo’s ahhhh’s and awww’s and make a delightful addition to Vere’s diversity of interests. Vere is a fantastic addition to Promet’s international team and can now combine her great work at Promet to many of her own personal accomplishments.

Vere was born in a small town, called Sao Bento do Sul, (pop. 77.000) located in southern Brazil. There are many industries in her city, but it is famous for its furniture production. The city was colonized by Germans. Vere is 75% German, 12.5% Polish and 12.5% Portuguese. Today, there are German, Italian and Polis festivals in her city.

She likes to spend her summer vacations in Florianópolis ( It is composed of one main island, one continental part and many surrounding small islands). Because of its location and white sandy beaches, it is popular with many South American tourists. She also like to spend her summer weekends in Balneário Camboriú, another city and a major beach resort in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina.

Vere enjoys all the usual things – restaurants, sports, theater, nature, animals (She has three dogs!), the beach and watching great films. She is close to her family. She enjoys traveling, learning about different places, cultures and food. Her passion is to dance and spend time with her boyfriend, family and dogs (Zulu, Darko and Borris). At the end of this year she’ll be a MBA graduate. She studied for her MBA in Curitiba, the capital of Parana State.
It takes 2 hours by car from Sao Bento to Curitiba.
The Brazilian Promet office is also located in Curitiba!

The Brazil Promet Party

On Saturday, June 21^st.the Promet office had its first team party in

Curitiba, organized by Vere. Of course, the team decided to celebrate at a typical Brazilian restaurant called churrascaria. Rafael recommended that we go to Jardim Grill, which has an amazing selection of delicious meats and wines. In the beginning, we could barely talk with each other, because we kept being interrupted by the waiters putting huge pieces of meat on our plates. A good problem, indeed!

Since we all work in different parts of

Curitiba, it was our first time together as a team. Not only did we have a chance to meet and in person, but we also had the opportunity to meet

Anderson’s lovely wife, Emanuela and adorable daughter, Melissa.

It was nice getting to know each other in this informal setting. While we shared our personal histories and a quite a few jokes, part of our discussion focused on the cultural differences between Brazilian and American companies. It was also helpful discussing many of the challenges we all face both at an international company and working in a virtual office.

We look forward to meeting the rest of the Promet team someday! Tchau!
